Grades 1-4
Winter sports day
Up to three full-day field trips (for example: Upper Canada Village, farm)
Grades 2-4 participate in the annual Track and Field Day organized at all German schools worldwide. Grade 1 has a coinciding sports day.
Excursions to museums, music and theatre concerts corresponding with curriculum
Grades 1-2
A "sleep-over" in the school (e.g, a book night) can be organized.
Grades 3-4
At least one "cabin camping" trip with the class (1-2 nights)
Grades 5-12
Up to three full-day or half-day field trips (for example: museums, Goethe Institute, theatre, concerts, hiking, etc.)
All classes participate in a winter sports day and in the Track and Field Day.
Grades 5-6
Multiple-day field trip, such as kayaking, skiing, hiking
Grade 7
Space Camp Laval (www.cosmodome.org) in cooperation with the German School in New York (DSNY) for several days (fall).
Grade 8
Study trip to Germany for up to 11 days (Spring)
Grade 9
Study trip to New York City to visit DSNY (4 days)
Grade 10
2-day excursion with over-night stay (heavy workload with provincial exams makes longer field trips impossible)
Grade 11
Study trip to Europe (for example: Germany or France) or trip within North America
Grade 12
2-day excursion with over-night stay (fall) |
